There are many things you can do to help maintain your vehicles appearance, condition and value. Parking your vehicle in a garage, frequent washing and waxing, ceramic coatings and films, removing light scuffs and rubs on your factory finish, repairing unsightly dents and dings, maintaining your factory finish, changing oil and filters regularly and proper tire maintenance helps your vehicles appearance, mechanical condition, and value.
Maintaining your Factory Finish
It a commonly known, that if you can maintain you factory paint job and finish, it helps it’s value. Factory finish paint jobs are better because of the engineering that goes into the finish. Manufactures spend billions on special equipment, heaters, dryers, spray gun robotics and painting equipment. It’s also a known thing that body shops have challenges perfectly matching paint colors and quality control. That’s why when you wreck your vehicle, in a majority of cases they have to paint the whole side of the vehicle. That’s so all the side panels match in color. So, maintain your factory is an important thing. Read on…
It’s great if you have indoor parking to store your vehicle. There are several benefits to indoor parking. Storing inside helps on theft and owners personal security. Another benefit to garage parking is keeping the vehicle out of the weather. Some parts of the USA have harsher weather conditions, with temperatures getting down below zero. Keeping the vehicle’s engine inside does help keeping the engine warmer, especially heated garages, which means warmer oil and less restriction during cold starts. Some areas of the USA have higher percentages of acid rain. Another thing to consider about inside parking, it minimizes damage; such as cats jumping on autos and bird droppings. According to Ray and Tom at Car Talk, keeping your vehicle parked in a garage helps maintain your vehicle’s condition. https://www.cartalk.com/content/garage-or-not-garage

Industry-grade ceramic coating is a chemical polymer solution that is applied to the exterior of a vehicle to protect it from external paint damage. Typically applied by hand, it blends with the paint of your car and creates an additional hydrophobic layer of protection. Due to this chemical bonding and creation of a new layer, the car’s factory paint job remains untouched. While many car enthusiasts and even detailers believe it to be an alternative to clear bra (paint protection film), ceramic coating, in reality, is an alternative to waxing. The main idea is to prevent dirt, grime, and stain marks from appearing on the paint job and ruining the clear coat.
Ceramic coating, also sometimes called nano-ceramic coating, is a permanent or semi-permanent solution to your worries depending upon the coating and type of polymer used. Due to its chemically intrinsic properties, it does not break down in normal atmospheric conditions like rain or summer. Modesta, Nanolex, CQuartz, Ceramic Pro and IGL Kenzo are some of most popular brands of ceramic coating today. They are widely used in and around the Houston area and elsewhere in Texas. But before you decide if you really want to try it out, let’s dig deeper.
People keep raving about it. So what more can it do for your car? Here is an educational article discussing ceramic coatings. https://www.vive-houston.com/blog/ceramic-coating-does-it-work

Vehicles Are Devalued After a Wreck
Did you know that when your vehicle is wrecked it automatically devalues it. The factory finish paint is damaged, and sometimes OEM parts aren’t placed back on the vehicle. It’s impossible to match the orange peel, texture, sheen and color of the factory finish. Many body shops do a poor job at getting anywhere close to the factory color, sheen and textures. That’s why body shops have to do what’s called a blend. Many times only one panel on your vehicle is damaged, but they have to paint the whole side of the vehicle. That’s so they can get the sheen, texture and color matching down the side of the vehicle. Many times when your vehicle is wrecked, an insurance claim is filed, and your vehicle is repaired at a body shop. This occurrence generates a car fax, and it immediately devalues you vehicle.
